How We Prepare Our Books

Sanatan Granth Sangrah is our series of scripture and puja books for modern Indian families: every verse in the original Sanskrit, in easy transliteration, and with a clear English meaning. These are sacred texts, so we treat accuracy as the first duty. This page explains exactly how we prepare them.

1. The original text comes from traditional sources

Sanskrit and Awadhi verses are taken from the widely accepted traditional readings, not typed from memory. Where a text has a standard count, such as the 700 mantras of the Durga Saptashati or the 40 chaupais of the Hanuman Chalisa, we check every chapter against that count and follow the traditional numbering.

2. Every English meaning is our own writing

We write the English meanings and explanations ourselves: faithful to the original, simple to read, and devotional in tone. We do not copy anyone else's modern translation. Where we use a classic public-domain translation, such as Shri Purohit Swami's 1935 English Bhagavad Gita, we credit it clearly inside the book.

3. Where traditions differ, we tell you

Families and regions follow different customs, and panchangs sometimes give different dates or muhurat. We don't hide this. When sources disagree, the book tells you what the difference is and why, so you can follow your own family's tradition with confidence.

4. Festival dates are checked more than once

Dates and muhurat for each festival are checked across several panchangs. Timings depend on your city, so we always recommend confirming the exact muhurat with your local panchang or family priest.

5. Illustrations are made with care

Our illustrations are digitally created for devotional and educational use, and reviewed to make sure every deity is shown respectfully and in keeping with tradition.

6. What language are the books in?

Unless a title says otherwise, our books give the original verses in Sanskrit (Devanagari), with English transliteration so anyone can recite them, and English meanings and explanations. They are not Hindi translations. Hindi editions of selected titles are in preparation.

7. If you find a mistake, we fix it for everyone

If you spot an error in a verse, meaning or date, please email ourdigiverse@gmail.com. We will check it, correct the book, and send the updated edition free to every reader who bought it.
